Do you know...

Image
Do you know what drinks Joseph and Mary would have enjoyed? Water, fruit juice, wine, beer? Do you know when Quirinius became governor of Judea? When Herod the great died? What census took place just before the first Christmas? Do you know what fruit Jesus might have eaten? Apples, grapes, figs, dates, oranges? Do you know where Jesus went to school? Do you know what happened shortly before Jesus was lost in the Temple? Do you know how to answer your kids when they ask too many questions?  Bethlehem's Baby includes author's notes for a reason. The author, me, wanted to know more than just "Jesus is the reason for the season." And whenever I said "I don't know," to the kids, I wanted a way to add to it, "Let's find out." Bethlehem's Baby is #6 in the Five Minute Bible Story(TM) Series from Cape Arago Press . #7 coming soon...

Bored and in danger on the road from Bethlehem

Bethlehem's Baby is continuing its blog tour with posts all around the internet. Click here for more links. Meanwhile...if you'd like to tune your TV sets to the millennial Roman channel... here's your chance to enjoy another Sample Saturday . (Don't miss the other samples when you've read this... just follow the Sample Saturday link to the Facebook event.) Our intrepid reporter has been following a merchant caravan out of Israel. His last report said soldiers were following too, though it’s hard to imagine why King Herod would risk angering the Romans. But do any of the other travelers seem likely to attract King Herod’s attention? Reporter Paul: No, they don’t. There’s a fisherman from up north, but I’ve looked into his background. He’s just a young guy seeking his fortune—says he can’t stand the smell o...

Bethlehem's Baby got it's first review!  " I especially loved the part where the author illustrates that God didn't place the world on a wall and hang it for display or put it on a bookshelf or table for looks, but He tended it lovingly as a gardener does his garden, such a beautiful way of putting it ," says A Kid's Review. Bethlehem's Baby will begin its blog tour in October, but I'm numerically and, apparently, calendrically challenged, so watch out for the first post appearing later this month, with a huge thank you to all my kind hosts and the usual cry out for more. "Tell God we're too old to be parents." "Why me?" "Why does God want smelly pigeons?" "Who are you? And how did you get in here?" "God doesn't send angels to bor..." "Why does he have to be Jesus and not Steven or Sam?" "What's a calendar?" "Yes, it's a river....
